a lesson

the faucet
drips and drips.
it's a small
bell against the chrome
drain.
it never stops
ringing.
you could change
a washer,
call a plumber,
tighten
the knobs,
but you like
how persistent it
is, wanting
to come out
and fill the basin.
it's dripping
for you.
letting you know
it's there
when needed.
a lesson perhaps
for me
but more for
you.
