the farmer
prays for rain.
then he prays
for the rain to
stop, for
the sun to come
out. he's never
happy
with the weather,
blaming
the crops on
good luck
or misfortune,
or a sin unconfessed.
each seed
holding a wish,
or a prayer,
each harvest,
an answer.
