need words
to communicate,
our thoughts
and desires are
unspoken and
silent, instead
we speak in
code. we nod,
we make a slight
gesture with
our hands, we
shake our
heads, or wink.
we push a plate
of a half eaten
piece of toast
towards one another,
and then the
jam.
