burrowed in cool

we change plans

because

of the weather.

it's too hot

for a walk, for a swim

even.

too steamy

for a bike ride,

or to sit outside

and grille.

the sun has suddenly

moved

closer to the earth,

so we choose

to stay inside,

under the fan,

burrowed together,

cool in the shade

of our berth.
