slams her hoover vacuum
into my cable box
at the foot of the wall and knocks
out the tv,
the landline
and the internet all at once.
i'm suddenly
back in the dark ages.
i stare at the splayed wires
on the floor
and shake my head.
no repairman will come for
a week.
good Lord, what now.
how will i survive.
