fish on ice

what others have
written, unless
it's in a book
or a magazine, or
published someplace
you can find it.
you don't want to
hear the words, yes,
I write too, can you
read some of mine.
you know how selfish
that sounds, how
wrong it might be,
but usually
what they've
written stinks
like fish on ice,
you are willing
at some point to be
proven wrong, but
for the moment,
at least, that
hasn't happened.
