and her skin

almost translucent
behind
the freckles.
or burned
from a minute
in the sunlight.

was fun,
and smiled big
and hard
showing her
pinkish
wide gums.
when she laughed
it sounded
like
seals clapping
for fish.
her head thrown
back
to see her tonsils
and molars.
