diving down

looking for
answers,
you find yourself
below the ocean,
it's much darker
than you realized
the thin halo
of light fading,
fish bump up
against you
like passengers
in the subway,
meaning no harm.
you float and
sink further,
diving down
with open and
closed arms,
the bubbles of
your life rise
before your
eyes. you don't
know why you are
even here, but
that will come
later, hopefully
while there is
still air.
