icecream

i bought two scoops
of deep dark chocolate
icecream the other night.
went to the bench, near
the water, near the
harbor and sat still and
calm, like the waves
that lapped gently
against the shoreline.
it was a fine love
affair of me and sweetness,
cold licks of good
memories. leaving me
wanting just a little
bit more, but satisfied
for what was in the cup.
