most people would do whatever
they can
to avoid jail
time.
but apparently not.
the prisons are full
of knuckleheads
who've skirted the law.
who've
robbed banks,
or pummeled someone
for short dough.
who would want
the orange jumpsuit,
the shaved head
for lice,
the cell,
the hard bed.
the possibility
of getting
unwanted love in the shower?
why not
walk the line
on the outside and avoid
such things.
keep your nose clean?
but no.
it ain't so.
