on the block
with a color tv invited us over
to watch
the wonderful world of disney
on sunday night.
and we did.
sitting on the long couch.
the mother
putting out
nuts and chips,
soft drinks.
we were washed clean
and neat
for the event.
our mother on the edge
of her seat too.
and then we went home,
all of us
sad.
knowing it would be forever
or never
before we'd see on our
tv
the colors of the rainbow,
from red
to blue.
