hiding

from the first time
the child
hides beneath a bed,
or burrows inside
a dark
full closet, it's then
the boy
or girl realizes,
that this feels fine,
escaping
the world, it's
pain and sorrow,
it become
a pattern.
the mind is wired
to go this way,
to hide in times
of trouble,
to find rest.
