your son
is not applying himself,
the counselor says
behind
her closed office door.
it almost seems like
he doesn't care, or
that he's too good for
this school.
he's having lots of fun,
and he's quite a clever,
funny fellow,
but that's not
why we're here, is it?
you want him to get into
a good school,
don't you?
get a job, work forty
years on the day shift,
the night shift,
doing something, anything.
maybe he's good with his hands.
he has to get with
the program and buckle
down or I see trouble in
his future.
you weren't like that,
were you?
well....sort of.
