the workers
in their hard hats,
day glow
green vests
are walking about in
the rain
talking
to one another
on phones.
going from one
new patch
of laid sod
to another.
staring up
at brick and mortar.
measuring.
they stamp their
mud caked boots
against the new curbs.
one has a shovel,
one a rake,
another
is holding a cup
of coffee.
all day
they criss cross
the street,
walking to and fro
as if working.
