modern love

I don't want
to get married, you tell
her. we've both
done that already.
why have a legal
contract for an
emotion, right?
I just want to be
in love with you
and go out on
the weekends.
maybe in the middle
of the week,
have dinner,
if our schedules
permit.
we don't need to
live together,
but maybe we can
spend the night
once in awhile as
long as we go home
by noon the next day.
we are both
very busy with our
lives, and neither
one of us wants
to get in the other
person's way.
if you want we
can keep a few bathroom
items at each
other's houses,
but not a lot of
clothes, or things,
because what if
it doesn't work out,
it's so awkward
collecting all that
stuff when it ends.
so, anyway. what do
you think, should
we give it a shot?
