the door

the door
is stuck,
where once
it swung freely
to open and close
and lock
behind you as
need be, is now
tight and sealed.
the wood has
warped along
the frame,
the heat and cold,
the snow and rain,
the change
that comes with
time,
have all taken
their toll. there
is no way
back to the other
side.
