your eye
catches the gleam
of her pearl
white button
left, fallen off
from it's
slender twist
of thread, once
tightly wound.
it sits now
in the sun upon
your rug,
like an ancient
coin with a tale
to tell
behind it's
slippery soft
descent, unbound.
