actress of some note.
and could be found
on the stage in new
york, off broadway,
but the star slipped,
and age crept in like
water on a rising
river. everyone was
suddenly younger,
prettier, more versed
in books and lines,
and life. there was
never time for love,
for children, for
what the other's had,
what she would see
out there when the
lights went down and
she took her spot.
