day in day out

swallowed whole
this day, gone,
devoured in a mere
twelve hours. morning
noon and night,
three meals divided
and eaten with
ravenous hunger,
strange delight.
and tomorrow,
more of the same.
it's repetition
is amazing, and
frightening and
borders on insane.
