this peanut butter sandwich,
the strawberry
jam
lathered
over the slice of white bread.
the brown
sweet crunch of nuts
crushed,
now smooth.
i place one slice on top
of the other,
gently. pressing so.
then cut down the middle.
half for me,
half for you.
is the milk cold?
