any day

some days, they don't have to
be rainy days,
they can be bright blue
full of sun,
but you need that day to stay
in, to stay home
and open boxes,
to sift through the growing
debris that has washed ashore
in your life.
closets need to be emptied
and clean,
the refrigerator too.
the list of numbers in your
phone need to be pared
down.
the number of towels
and sheets, that go unused
thrown out. shoes,
never worn,
sock never slid onto your
feet.
it's hard to throw away
what doesn't belong anymore,
but any day will do,
when ready.
