stop your whining
she says.
If you want clouds
and despair,
rain,
a cold wind off the sound,
come here.
come here and stand
with me
in seattle.
stare up at the snow
capped mountains,
look north
to the border.
even the salmon are
shivering
as they swim upstream
grabbed
by the fat paws of brown
bears.
stop your whining
she says.
put on your waist high
boots,
your mountain hat,
your mohair sweater
and come here.
we can whine together.

The views from the ferries are worth the $12 fare. City lights, mostly blues and greens, mountains, and a space needle reminding us that Elvis was once here on a warm summer day. Invitation is open to visit the grave of Bruce Lee and the bubble gum wall.
