a bad sign

when slowly riding
through the old
neighborhood
the other day,
i noticed
the sign outside
her house,
formerly my house,
saying beware of
dog, meaning me
of course, and i
don't even live
there anymore,
but have been
off the chain for
quite some time.
i hit the pedal
and quickly got
out of there.
