The doctor's wife is in white.
She works in the office. She is
the office. Her lips glow with
red, her cheeks blossom. She
smells new. Her abs are tight,
and her smile could kill a baby
seal She signs the checks, she
hires the help. She demands
perfection and keeps her head
up, her wits about her. No one
gets in without her approval.
The receptionist and assistants
are weary, and older, heavy,
and uninterested in everything
but going home and lunch.
The wife has selected them
with a keen eye. Her world
is safe. Her world is good.
She bounces around the office
like a happy song, like cotton
candy, like the Disney girl she was.
The doctor will be with you
in a moment. Please have a seat.

I still love this, especially "her smile could kill a baby seal."
