the stage mother
can't wait for the role to come
in.
she's aglow with what
it could mean.
she imagines
her self in the front
row
as the Oscars come in,
the Emmy,
the life time
achievement award.
she's patient and tells
everyone
about how well
the boy is doing. one
day, she says, you'll
see, you'll see,
he's only thirty three,
then she sits down
to sends him a check
to pay
the electric bill.
