your seeing eye dog
is here with you,
along with your hearing
cat, and your whistling
bird. these animals
do for you what
you can no longer do
for yourself. the chimp
cooks for you in the kitchen,
a banana in every dish,
and the fish,
how they swim and dance,
like you used to,
the lion with his roar,
how loud you once
could roar.
and the rabbits, in their cage,
doing what rabbits do.
