about our children
in the cradle, rocking
them slowly,
but even as the grey
arrives
in their hair,
and their bellies
fill up
with the world.
we
want them to be safe,
to be smart,
to be successful, and yet
at times
you get the feeling
they when it comes to you,
they don't really
care.
they expect
all things concerning you
to be well.
