hotel sheets

I felt her
teeth on my neck,
razor sharp
and white.
she was sucking the blood
out of an
open vein. having a good old time.
what are you doing, I asked
her.
that hurts.
nothing, she murmured,
just making
you one of us, like me.
free to live
forever,
but always hungry
for more, perpetually
young and
thirsty. whatever, I said.
but please be careful,
these are new
sheets, hotel sheets,
six fifty count. I just
bought them.
