guilt

just looking at
the man
you decide that he's guilty,
but the other eleven members
of the jury
don't feel that way.
there's only circumstantial
evidence, but you protest,
he's smiling, just look
at him, you say.
how can anyone be happy
at a time like this.
to me that's a sign
of guilt, all that laughing
and joking around.
it means he's guilty,
perhaps not of this crime,
but something,
so I vote to convict,
throw him in jail
and throw away the key.
no one should be that happy
in this day and age.
