it's best to buy fruit
in season,
this orange proves my point.
it looks ready and ripe,
the skin peels off
as it should,
easy with your fingers,
hardly needing the help
of a knife. it's colorful
and bright, full of juice,
this quartered fruit.
but the taste is sour,
it isn't right.
