when she was
a young scientist
she had no idea that
she would be
baking cupcakes
in her golden years.
from test tubes,
to eggs and butter
in a bowl.
but she kept her
white smock,
with the doctor
script on the pocket
and smiles now
instead of frowns
when the oven bell
rings that they're
ready.
