your garden

you rake away
the fallen apples,
worm filled
and bitten
by black winged
birds, you
pull the intrusive
vines
and weeds away
from the garden
and house,
their tendrils
biting into
the red brick.
you cut the wild
branch down, keeping
it from
the roof and wires
where it may
fall when laden
with snow.
if only it was
so easy
with so called
friends and relatives
to rid them
from your otherwise
peaceful
garden.
