the new dress

I made this,
she says,
spinning around
in her summer dress
full of flowers
and bright light.

beautiful in fact,
like you.
is there a snap
or a clasp
in the back.
I can hang it on
the door
where it won't
get wrinkled or
stepped upon
while it's lying
on the floor.
